Red and Near-infrared Light Therapy
Photobiomodulation (red and near-infrared light therapy) is an exciting option for anyone suffering Parkinsons. Recent research has shown that if light of specific wavelengths and sufficient energy is used, there can indeed be improvements in both physical and mental symptoms. For Parkinson’s, balance, walking and mood can all improve. |
For Parkinson’s, we are offering a program of gut-directed laser therapy (because there is a lot of dopamine produced in the gut, and treating the gut is part of the overall recovery), along with a type of “bike helmet” device with LED lights providing both red and near infra-red light. In addition, a third source of light is attached to a nostril and delivers light directly to the blood stream and thus to the whole body.

Your Visit |
Light therapy visits will be scheduled twice a week and if effective, information will be given about how to purchase your own devices to use at home. We know that continued use is essential and there is a deterioration in most people once they stop using the light, which is promptly reversed once the light therapy starts up again.
